Information on Battery Disposal

In connection with the distribution of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following:

Our shipments may contain batteries and accumulators. It is legally required that batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in household waste. Instead, you are legally obliged to return used batteries. Old batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment and your health if not properly stored or disposed of. At the same time, batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel that can be recycled.

You have the option of returning the batteries to us after use or disposing of them free of charge at nearby collection points (e.g., in stores or at municipal collection points). Please note that disposal at sales points is limited to the usual quantities for end users and to those old batteries that the distributor carries or has carried as new batteries in its range.

The symbols depicted on the batteries have the following meanings:

The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.

Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium

Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury.

Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead

Please observe the above instructions for the proper disposal of batteries.
